PROPOSAL FOR TUI NA CLASS
Tui Na is Chinese Medical Massage. This form of massage is one the oldest, medically-founded massage systems in the world. The class would be designed to give a beginning student a foundation in using many aspects of Tui Na in their practice and could be incorporated into any other massage techniques being used.

The class would be taught in 3-4 hour sections with practical time per day included. It is expected that total time to learn basic Tui Na would be 30 hours. Students would be tested at the end of the class to show there skills.

The class would have 3 main sections:

After the student has learnt these 3 areas, a basic anatomy class would review the student for the next section of:
Manipulation therapy
Similar to chiropractic, the student will learn basic manipulation of the entire spine. Students could opt to join this class, but this is part of Chinese Medical massage.

CLASS, LEVEL 1
1. Basic techniques:
     a. Pressing, pushing, rubbing, kneading, grasping, plucking, rolling, cupping, pounding, chopping, rectifying and sweeping.

2. Compound techniques:
     a. Kneading-grasping, rolling-pressing, sweeping-rubbing, and plucking-grasping.

3. Special Protocols:
     a. Insomnia, TMJ, Headache, Common cold, and Lumbar Pain.

4. Commonly used acupuncture points for Level 1 class:
     a. Points on the head: Gb14, Gb8, Gb20, 21, D20, D23, S8, S6, Ub1, Wuyao, Taiyang, Yintai, Li20,
     b. Points on the Arm/hand: Li4, Li11, L7, L6, L5, Sj3, Sj5, P7, P6
     c. Points on the torso (front): Ba gwa, L1-2
     d. Points on the torso (back): Gb21, Ding chuang, D4, Ub32, Gb30
     e. Points on the leg: S36, S43-44, Lv3, Sp4,6,9, K3, K1, Ub60, Ub40
