Fresh young coconut

Fresh young coconuts are served in the afternoon at the Tao Garden swimming pool; they make a deliciously refreshing and natural isotonic electrolyte on hot days or after exercise. Coconut flesh, dried or fresh is one of the best sources of medium-chain fatty acids (MCFA), these help to reduce cholesterol and thus protect against heart disease and arteriosclerosis. Try our recipe for Mieng Kam, a traditional Thai dish, in which fried dried coconut figures prominently. In Taoist’ Five Element Cooking, Coconut feeds the blood (Fire), cools the system (Triple Heater) and nourishes Ching Chi (Sexual Organs), it soothes the prostate gland.
